How to Use Shortcuts to Increase Typing Speed

We all know that increase typing speed matters. Some Shortcuts to increase typing speed really works.Whether you’re applying for a job as an executive assistant, being able to type quickly and accurately might be the only skill that stands between you and another equally qualified applicant.

Get into the habit of sitting with a good position when you type so that you are comfortable and can focus on better typing speed and accuracy. Being comfortable will also ensure that you can type for longer periods. Practice typing as often as possible so that you familiarize yourself with the layout of the typing keys.

Here’s 7 shortcuts that will help you increase your typing speed in no time.  We don’t guarantee overnight results but, if you follow these tips you’ll definitely get a opportunity on the competition.

1) Accuracy

Accuracy is the must to increase typing speed. You had been trying to improve your speed for months and you are  not seeing much improvement?  Try to slow down and started being more accurate instead of trying to type faster. You must started seeing an increase in your typing speed, feel more in control as well. You still have a way to go for your personal goal but pleased to see that you are now improving and relaxing more.

Learn to be accurate first then improve speed. Because if you make mistakes all the time the longer it will take you to type. Every time you backspace takes longer than if you slow down just a tad so you can type accurately. I still makes a lot of mistakes but I realize when I slow down to be accurate I actually tend to type slightly faster.

2) Practice

Get used to the home keys work to the point where you do not need to look at both what you are typing, or your fingers on the keyboard. Develop muscle memory for typing certain types of commonly used letter parings. Identify the combinations of letters for certain words that give you trouble and practice typing them in particular to the point where you no longer need to think when doing so.

Practice more and more to increase typing speed

My tip to improve your typing speed is to not only practice often, but practice correctly. Try to get rid of bad typing habits and replace them with good ones. For example, you should use every single finger when typing instead of relying on the use of fingers with which you’re most comfortable. Full utilization of both hands is necessary to achieve your highest typing potential.

You’ve probably heard that practice makes perfect, but that isn’t always the case. If you’re not practicing the correct way, then your practice could do more harm than good. That’s why I always say that “perfect” practice is what really makes perfect, so before you start typing away, ensure that you’re practicing the best habits for keyboard input. This means you need to start using both hands instead of two fingers, and one thumb needs to be on the space bar at all times.

It takes time to adjust, but you honestly can’t have a high typing speed if you’re still typing one key at a time. If necessary, take some classes online or at a school where you can learn how to do this from scratch. I’ll also be providing a link below that can help with this.

3) Know your keyboard

My tip to improve your typing speed is to feel for the “F” and the “J”. As most know, those are the letters you feel for first on the keyboard. As time goes by, and you learn how to type without looking, you will not even really have to “feel” for the “F” and the “J” you will just learn the keyboard.

4) Don’t look at the keyboard

Another great trick to help you increase your typing speed in a short period of time is to avoid looking at the keyboard. Initially, this may result in more mistakes, but you will learn the positions of the keys at a much higher rate without using the keyboard as a crutch.

Once you’ve gotten a decent feel for where the keys are laid out, eliminate the habit of looking down while you type. For one thing, it prevents you from visually editing your copy in real-time, meaning more mistakes and more time wasted editing in the end. You’ll also learn the layout of the keys a lot faster, since you are not taking any mental shortcuts.

5) Rhythm

What is important is developing a rhythm, not to hurry, but to be accurate, first-priority. Speed comes naturally with practice and time. Further, one must push one’s self to perform better, but acknowledging that efficiency only is established, along with effectiveness.

6) Use online resources
